hints to Business success

It is not easy to have or gain all the required skills yourself:that's why having a team,
someone to collaborate at your project
might be worthwhile

People are the first real value behind ideas because it is not easy to have great ideas, and those regularly don't come to a realisation. It is crucial to share ideas to make your concept arising, but then the idea must be protected. We have to give it a shape, and now the most exciting part is to find a name, a design, a logo. Now that the idea has a body, there are many ways to cover the creation's intellectual property.

This video summarises the main concepts I will discuss below:

Click on names of the ways to protect your intellectual property to know more. (e.g. click on "Patents")

There are: patents

to protect a technical/functional design.

copyright

which I didn't know to be an automatic right, so it does not need to be registered, you need to prove it originates from you and add a © alongside the owner's name and date of creation.

trademarks

linked to elements like logos, slogans, colours, sounds and shapes which make us recognise the brand just by seeing that product/service.

design rights

protect the external, visual appearance of a product or design.

trade secrets

which are secret components like the Coca-Cola recipe.

Now it is vital to protect your idea and check you are not breaking others' intellectual property rights or incurring high penalties.
